Bebek Restaurant was experiencing typical HR-related issues in the hospitality and F&B industry. Before us, they used to be done manually by registers and spreadsheets, and it was more challenging to keep a 100% accurate record of the shift timings, late arrivals, early leaves, overtime, and working hours on even holidays.

Payroll operation was intricate because of fluctuating working hours, overtime, allowances, service-related payments, and unpaid leaves. The majority of the manual work leads to errors, a long payroll period, and discontent amongst the employees. The management of gratuity, end-of-service benefits, and final settlements were also another source of complication when it comes to adherence to the labor law of the UAE.

There was no organization in leave management. Orders were received orally, through WhatsApp, or in writing, without the appropriate paperwork or updating the balance in real-time. This led to a lack of understanding, workforce shortages during peak times, and a high workload for HR.

Employees were not allowed to access attendance records, salary slips, and leave balances, which resulted in frequent HR enquiries and payroll conflicts. The management also did not have centralized reporting where it could analyze the workforce costs, overtime trend, and the efficiency of the staffing across the shifts.
